The Firm 

The Wood Law Firm, founded in 2000, represents clients in business and personal legal disputes. Specifically, the firm represents clients in lawsuits and other matters involving contracts, real estate, construction, insurance, corporate and partnership disputes, and a variety of other areas.  Our clients are companies representing many industries, including finance, real estate, retail, construction, technology, trucking, industrial, and foodservice, as well as individuals.   

With over 20 years of experience in the legal field, David Wood knows that in order to achieve the best outcome for a client in a legal dispute, the opposing side has to be aware that Mr. Wood is ready, willing, and able to take the case to trial and win.  For this reason, Mr. Wood believes that it is important for a client to know that their attorney has the experience necessary to take a case to trial and to handle the trial effectively.  This is especially true when the case involves a large number of documents and multiple complex issues.  

David H. Wood

Having tried well over 50 cases as lead counsel, including cases involving many fact witnesses, thousands of documents, and the testimony of expert witnesses, David H. Wood has the extensive trial experience a client needs and should expect from their lawyer.  As a result of his experience, Mr. Wood knows how to prepare a case for trial and how to present the case effectively.  However, because of the time and expense involved, when settlement is possible, it is often the best course of action for the client.  With that in mind, Mr. Wood counsels his clients regarding settlement opportunities and seeks creative resolutions in order to serve the best interests of the client. 

Mr. Wood also assists clients with general legal advice relating to their business, as well as with negotiating and drafting contracts and other legal documents in connection with transactional matters, including real estate investment deals, the purchase or sale of a business, and a wide variety of other contracts needed by his clients in connection with their businesses.  

Mr. Wood graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1990 and from the University of Houston Law School in 1993.  In law school, he served as an Editor on the Houston Journal of International Law.
